Regular checkups and wellness exams are important to your pet’s well-being. These wellness exams give us a chance to evaluate the overall health of your pet while also giving us a baseline for their unique bodies and tendencies.
An annual physical includes a thorough examination or your pet, discussion of any medical concerns, and administration of vaccine boosters as needed. Additionally, we encourage testing for intestinal parasites and for tick-borne diseases and heartworm annually. Flea and tick control, appropriate diet and weight, and behavioral issues are also topics we frequently discuss during the annual physical.
For senior pets (dogs 7 years and above or cats 10 years and above), we recommend testing kidney function annually. Our office can give you information on how to collect samples for testing.
