During a visit for a pet that isn’t feeling well, we will perform a thorough examination and discuss their medical history. Since your pet cannot tell us how they feel, it is important for you to make note of and tell us about the symptoms they exhibit. It is helpful to know when they began showing the symptoms, how often they have occurred and how they have progressed over time. We may draw blood for in-house processing or to be sent to an outside laboratory. Other diagnostic services we may perform are radiography, ultrasound, urinalysis or cytology. If your pet is admitted for further observation, surgery or treatment, we will accommodate them in our calm and comfortable ICU, where the staff can easily monitor their condition and administer treatments. Brief visits by family members may be possible during office hours for pets that are admitted to the ICU facility.
